It carries the same 45 mg CHG gel pad as the 1657R, delivering continuous chlorhexidine antimicrobial activity over the insertion site to help lower catheter-related bloodstream infection risk. The fully transparent film and gel pad allow uninterrupted visual inspection of the site, and the waterproof, breathable film both protects the site and permits patient bathing. Sterile, single-use; change every 7 days or per protocol. Best when the smaller sizes don't leave enough border to secure the device reliably.
